Village Festivities June 2022

The first weekend in June saw the Village celebrating, with the rest of the UK, Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee.  What an achievement and we are all very proud of her.  There had been a Fities Jive evening in the Arbuthnot Hall the previous evening, which I did not attend, but on Sunday most of the villagers got together for a picnic on the green. The green looked very festive with coloured gazebos and flags and bunting on the surrounding houses. A village photo was taken and then there was a tug of war which was great fun.  Girls against boys, married couples against married couples. Sadly it was not very warm, but the rain did hold off.

The following weekend we all enjoyed the annual Village Fete.  The weather was perfect and we had lots of visitors.   I did not take too many pictures unfortunately as I was quite busy on the Gardening club plant stall a lot of the time.   You might spot a lot of dogs in my photos.  There is an annual Dog Show which is much enjoyed by all dogs and their owners.
