Village Christmas Events 2021

 This is the first year we have had this event in the village.  We have had a Christmas tree with lights outside the Arbuthnot Hall for a couple of years, but this year we had hot dogs and mulled wine, and local crafts being sold inside the hall.





Vicar Sally switched on the lights.  




After a year's break, due to Covid, about 50 members of The Village Gardening Club were once again able to enjoy their annual Christmas Supper, with Quiz, in the Bricklayers Arms.













Carols Around the Green - organised by one of the local schools.   Only a couple of photos.  Sadly it was pouring with rain.

The Morris Dancers in Horsham - May 2023

 We should have guessed when we saw some of the Morris Dancers at the Park and Ride bus stop,but we were not prepared for the large number of Morris Dancers gathered outside the Lynd Cross pub in Horsham.    We went in for coffee and watched even more dancers gathering before groups of them dispersed around the town.    Morris dancing is an English folk dance first recorded in 1448.   The dance is based on rhythmic stepping by a group of dancers, often wearing bells on their knees or shoes.  Sticks, Swords, or handkerchiefs are also wielded in tune with the music. This was obviously well organised as the groups of Morris Dancers moved around the town all morning performing their own particular dance.    These are just a few photos I took on my iPhone as we came across them . The drummers were fantastic. More soon --------------------------
