City of London at Night - Part 3

After leaving The Tate Modern we walked back across Southwark Bridge and made our way to Fenchurch Street and The Garden at 120.   Entry was free, but we had to go through security to enter - a bit like at the airport, and then took the lift to the 15th Floor. The views were wonderful.  As it was dark we were not able to appreciate the garden, but there seemed to be a lot of grasses, and there was a rill to one side.  The sides are glassed-in, which made taking photographs a bit difficult with reflections.   The views over London were magnificent

The Morris Dancers in Horsham - May 2023

 We should have guessed when we saw some of the Morris Dancers at the Park and Ride bus stop,but we were not prepared for the large number of Morris Dancers gathered outside the Lynd Cross pub in Horsham.    We went in for coffee and watched even more dancers gathering before groups of them dispersed around the town.    Morris dancing is an English folk dance first recorded in 1448.   The dance is based on rhythmic stepping by a group of dancers, often wearing bells on their knees or shoes.  Sticks, Swords, or handkerchiefs are also wielded in tune with the music. This was obviously well organised as the groups of Morris Dancers moved around the town all morning performing their own particular dance.    These are just a few photos I took on my iPhone as we came across them . The drummers were fantastic. More soon --------------------------
