Trip to Australia October 2023 - Part 9 - Barossa Valley trip
With my two sisters. Pauline and Emma with Peter driving us, we all took a trip to the Barossa Valley and had an overnight stay in an hotel. These are some of the places we visited, although I have not recorded all of the names. We had a great time. We stopped for tea and cake at Maggie Beer's. A beautiful dam which we were able to walk around Turtles in the dam There was a small exotic bird enclosure This peacock was walking outside an enclosure Eventually, he displayed his beautiful fan feathers This red gum tree was the first Australian home of Friederich Herbig who lived there with his wife Caroline and the first two of their 16 children. As the family grew Friederich Herbig built a .two room hut nearby The tree is estimated to be 500 years old with a height of 24 metres and a diameter of seven metres.
