Day trip to Southwark - Part 1 - Exploring Borough Market, September 2023

A coach trip to London by the U3A Group organised by my neighbour was a trip to Southwark and Angie and I jumped at the chance to join this trip.   Whilst the group went off to visit museums, etc., Angie and I set off for Borough Market and Southwark Cathedral.   It is many many years since I visited the world-famous Market, and it was vastly changed from what I remember of it.   I remember it as mainly fruit and vegetables, with cheeses and cold meat and fish sellers. These are still there, but also many other stalls selling 'street food', which was fascinating and certainly had my taste buds working overtime!   There was also a stall selling olive oil and balsamic vinegar, many with different flavours.  My favourite was the lemon-flavoured olive oil.

The market was a chance to try out some Street Photography, which I really enjoyed.
